Description
When an attorney thinks that irrelevant things are being brought up.
Purpose/Policy/Reason:
An irrelevant question or answer contributes nothing to the case and wastes everyone’s time.
Examples

(In this case, the trial is related to copyright infringement and this question is completely irrelevant to the case at hand, which is objectable)
What is your
favourite flavour of ice cream?”(In this case, the trial is about money laundering and this question is not at all related to the case at hand, which is objectionable)
What’s your favorite sport?”
(In this case, the trial is about contract law and the question has nothing to do with the case, which is objectionable.)
